TRAMA:
La giovane dottoressa Petersen, assistente in una casa di cura per malati di mente, apprende un giorno che il Dr. Edward, noto scienziato, è stato nominato direttore in sostituzione del Dr. Fleury. Giunge il nuovo direttore ma un complesso di indizi molto seri fanno pensare alla dottoressa di trovarsi di fronte ad un caso di sostituzione di persona. Dopo qualche giorno il nuovo direttore le confessa di non essere il Dr. Edward ma di esserne l'assassino. Durante la notte quest'essere enigmatico lascia la clinica. Quando riesce a rintracciarlo, la dottoressa si convince ben presto di aver a che fare con un malato di mente...
