Trama:
L'unica anarchia possibile è quella del potere, tuonava al secolo un intellettuale come Pier Paolo Pasolini, affermazione appropriata e puntuale per descrivere i nostri tempi e il film di Gavin Hood, premio Oscar come miglior film straniero con Tsotsi. Rendition, letteralmente "consegna" rende pubblica un'aberrante e poco conosciuta consuetudine che il governo degli Stati Uniti adotta nei confronti dei cittadini sospettati di terrorismo. La consegna straordinaria, infatti, è quella che vede coinvolto nel film Anwar El - Ibraimi (Omar Metwally), cittadino egiziano da anni residente in America e occupato nel settore dell'ingegneria chimica, precipitosamente arrestato dopo il ritorno da un viaggio di affari e trasferito in gran segreto in una località islamica per essere torturato e ridotto a condizioni disumane. Ad assistere al macabro spettacolo è chiamato Douglas Freeman (Jake Gyllenhall), agente della Cia addetto al reperimento delle informazioni durante gli interrogatori. Capo d'accusa: relazioni con frange del fondamentalismo radicale.
